The PTI founder and Bushra Bibi recorded their Section 342 statements to the court
A local court in Islamabad has concluded proceedings in the alleged unauthorized marriage case involving Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Busra Bibi during the iddat period.
Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah presided over the case during iddat proceedings. The session witnessed the conclusion of witness cross-examinations by the legal representatives and the final arguments presented by both legal teams.
Key witnesses, including Khawar Manika, Mufti Saeed, Aun Chaudhry, and Muhammad Latif, underwent cross-examination. Salman Akram Raja, the lawyer for PTI, conducted the questioning, with Raja Rizwan Abbasi, representing petitioner Khawar Manika, and public prosecutor Samiullah Jasra also in attendance.
Furthermore, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, founders of PTI, provided their Section 342 statements to the court. The hearing on the marriage case began at 9:30 AM and continued for 14 hours until 11 PM. Additionally, a questionnaire containing 13 probing questions was presented to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, intensifying the scrutiny of the matter.
After the completion of arguments from both parties, Senior Judge Qudratullah reserved the decision, underscoring the complexity and gravity of the case.
The court is scheduled to announce the verdict today (Saturday) at 1 PM.
