Mobile services will be restored completely soon across country: interior ministry
Cellular services were partially reinstated nationwide on Thursday, with the interior ministry stating that complete restoration is imminent.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) had earlier urged the immediate reinstatement of both internet and mobile services throughout the country. Taking to the social media platform X, the HRCP emphasized, “The ongoing service disruption persists despite the Sindh High Court’s directive to the caretaker government to ensure uninterrupted internet services on polling day.”
Expressing concern over the lack of transparency regarding the interruption, the HRCP stated, “With the PTA asserting it has not received any government instructions to block internet services, there is a troubling absence of clarity regarding where, when, and for how long the disruption will persist. This situation jeopardizes voters’ right to information and potentially hinders the transmission of results.”
