ISLAMABAD: Amid Akbar S Babar’s assertiveness to “take control” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party on Thursday challenged the “certified intermediary” to proceed with his latest unsuccessful endeavor, supported by his handlers, to seize the widely popular political party.
Referring to Babar as a certified intermediary, PTI spokesman Raoof Hasan straightforwardly stated that he is plotting yet another conspiracy with state backing after depriving PTI of its electoral symbol of a cricket bat.
This follows Babar’s statement at a conference held in Islamabad where he declared, “he rejects the allocation of tickets by PTI as the position of Imran Khan holds no significance.”
“It has been decided that all PTI accounts be frozen, and the cricket bat electoral symbol be reclaimed through free and fair intra-party elections,” he announced during a press conference attended by individuals expelled by the party in the past.
The PTI spokesman criticized Babar, asserting that his active efforts reveal the confusion and nervousness of his patrons and signify their defeated mindset as PTI has emerged as an unbeatable political force despite challenges.
Hasan continued, stating that the persistent intermediary named Akbar S Babar has always been willing to be manipulated by undemocratic forces for personal gains.
He highlighted that the handlers of this intermediary were bewildered and in complete disarray because all their schemes and plots failed; hence, the certified intermediary was deployed once again with a new scheme.
However, he emphasized that they should be aware that not only PTI workers but now, Alhamdulillah, the entire nation is well-aware of such a mischievous and malicious plan, and it will face a similar fate.
He noted that the failed attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the political party through an intermediary were a clear reflection of their defeated mindset.
Hasan recalled that earlier, this intermediary was used to strip PTI of its electoral symbol “bat,” and now he is being utilized to hatch another conspiracy.
By designating PTI founding chairman Imran Khan as their election symbol, he pledged that the nation is ready and determined to teach a lesson to the intermediary and the handlers through the power of their votes in the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.
He made it clear that the intermediary, whose sole intention is to create division within PTI, serves no purpose for his planners and abettors except for self-deception.
He further clarified that this notorious intermediary has nothing to do with the essence and ideology of PTI, adding that he was sidelined from the party, and his party membership was terminated through due process in 2013.
Hasan continued, stating that a self-centered and greedy individual like Akbar S. Babar, always ready to be used as a tool by conspiratorial elements, is not even worthy of being a member of any political party.
He emphasized that any action by this individual regarding PTI would have neither legal status nor would the party or the nation accept it under any circumstances.
